Snow days mean a whole lot of things – from longer drive times to shoveling the sidewalk. However, for some of us, snow means just one thing: Fun! We have so many ways to savor every snowy moment of winter, but nothing tops a good, old-fashioned day of sled riding. After the next snowfall, grab your sled and make your way to this park in Rhode Island that boasts an epic sledding hill.
Neutaconkanut Hill Park in Providence draws adventure seekers all year round for its many activities and some of the very best views in the entire city. From atop the hill, you will be treated to jaw-dropping views of the surrounding neighborhoods. Add a sprinkling of snow, and the landscape is simply magical.

A snowy day usually means the park’s hills are brimming with sled riders, all seeking that breathtaking thrill of zipping down the hill at top speed then climbing back up the hill for another ride down.

Be prepared for the journey down the hill to be fast, perhaps faster than you might be used to.

You might want to explore on cross-country skis or snowshoes, too. The park also hopes to reintroduce ice skating in the future.
