On Wednesday, May 8, a groundbreaking event was held at the site of the future South Shore Village Community Center at 30 Chickadee Lane, South Kingstown. The site is the home to a 55 and older community featuring resort-style amenities, including a brand-new, Community Clubhouse with indoor/outdoor saltwater pools, fitness center, tennis courts, a lush, regulation 9-hole golf course and more. “This town is very fortunate to have this development here, said South Kingstown Town Councilor Bryant Da Cruz. “Thebiggest thing for this community is it’scommunity . People care about their dwellings, but it’s more about the people that are going to be around them. One of the things we were looking at recently is making sure that we have a community that’s for young folks, for older folks and people that want to live in our town and age in place. We are very fortunate to have you all here. There are going to be a lot of people that want to volunteer and our town can definitely use all the volunteers we can muster. We are excited to see this come to fruition.” For more information on on the South Shore Village Community, visit southshorevillageRI.com.
