The Town’s Annual Fourth of July Celebration at Old Mountain Field in Wakefield will take place this year, when celebrating freedom and independence takes on a whole new meaning. The festivities will start at 5:30pm on Sunday, July 4th and feature a live concert by Take it to the Bridge, followed by a spectacular fireworks display at approximately 9pm. The public is invited to bring their blankets and folding chairs to relax, sing along with the band, dance, and celebrate in the park. Because of the expected crowds, attendees who have not been vaccinated are encouraged to wear face coverings if in close contact with others. Attendees are reminded that alcohol is prohibited in the park; and pets should be left at home. This program is free of charge, however donations will be accepted to defray some of the costs; and a 50/50 raffle will be held immediately before the fireworks. In the event of cancellation due to rain, the program will take place on Monday, July 5th. ... See MoreSee Less
